Books: Um, none. I tried to read Harry the Dirty Dog a few times, but nobody wanted to. We read plenty of books, just not any dog-related stories!
Crafts: Dot Dd, doghouse D
Food: doughnuts
Bible story: Jesus calls the disciples
It was a happy accident that we had doughnuts in the house on Monday morning, leftover from the youth group Super Bowl party the night before (at which Isaac pulls out the deep fryer and makes interesting food). We had them for a morning snack every day until they were gone.

It was also a fortunate coincidence that my mom bought Do-a-Dot markers for Owen for Christmas. This was the second time we've used them, and they are a HUGE hit. Dotting Dds!
The next day, the boys asked to paint, so I printed off the template for this doghouse craft and pulled out the watercolors. Simple. Easy.
Dog in the doghouse!
Levi made his own dog from an upside-down heart. I drew the face on, one element at a time, on the scrap paper to the right, then he copied it onto his own dog.
I had two main goals with the "disciple" theme: to learn the meaning of the word disciple, and to learn the names of the twelve disciples. I'm not sure we accomplished either goal, but with all three of us working together, we can usually get all twelve named. We tried to learn a little song to the tune of Jesus Loves Me, but even I am still forgetting the order of the names at the end of the week.
Pretty laid-back week, but at least Owen can identify a lower-case d now. I mean, unless it's next to a lower-case b, and then all bets are off. But exposure is the main goal at this age anyway, right? :)
