What I'm Cooking
Lemon-Lime Squares (with apologies that this links to a video and not the whole recipe; it was taken from a magazine). My mother-in-law requested these for Mother's Day. I'd prefer to stick with simple lemon, but she loved the addition of lime, so I guess it was a success!
Chocolate granola bars. These are extremely high in calories, but I love them! I use coconut oil in place of the butter. I keep them in the fridge and just nibble off little bits when I need a snack.
Buttermilk blueberry breakfast cake. Actually, Isaac made this for me, as my Mother's Day breakfast. It used to be one of my favorites, but I think I actually like this version better these days.
The rest of the week was rather hodge-podge, and this coming week will be as well, with Isaac at a conference for half the week.
What I'm Reading
Well . . . nothing, really. Silas isn't nursing much anymore, and I haven't made time to read regularly outside of that. I did, however, use some birthday money to buy a bundle of 97 homemaking e-books, so I'm looking forward to browsing those over the coming months.

Whenever Daddy takes the boys to the grocery store (which happened once last week, for reasons I can't remember now), they get a special treat -- usually, as here, a fruit leather from the natural foods section. You can see Silas in the top right corner, kneeling in the dining room . . . probably eating crumbs off the floor.
Favorite pin: What Did I Learn Today? A great set of questions to get kids (specifically about homeschooling for me, but surely you could use it for anyone) thinking about what they learned (and realizing that they DID, in fact, learn something!) each day. Maybe post in the dining room to use as dinner-time conversation when they're a little older?
Favorite blog post: A Few Thoughts Before Mother's Day from Our Best Bites. The post is really long, but about 2/3 of the way down there's a great paragraph about the writer remembering the fun stuff her mom did (even without Pinterest!) from photos, but remembering her lovely childhood from the day-to-day, normal routine stuff. If nothing else, it made me stop a few times more than usual to stack blocks for Silas just to watch him knock them down again.
