Bible story: creation
Scripture focus: Job 38-42 (about creation)
Book: Gregory the Terrible Eater
Craft: thumbprint grapes
Snack: grape salad, Annie's bunny grahams
Math (for Owen): gumball counting
I printed this cute gumball machine paper from 3dinosaurs.com, which has tons of free printables -- go check it out for whatever subject (tots through kindergarten, mostly) you need! We pretended the pom-poms were gumballs, and counted them one by one by sliding them out of the machine. Owen loved this activity and asked to do it twice more throughout the week.

Owen also colored this little Gg book, again from 3dinosaurs.com. I intended to ask him if he wanted to color the goat gray, but he attacked it with a green crayon before I noticed. :) At least he's finally interested in coloring!
The thumbprint grape idea was entirely my own (for maybe the first time ever)! I drew the outline of a grape cluster and had them fill it up with thumbprints.
You can see Silas's foot in the background. He's strapped into his high chair playing with a hinged puzzle, his grabby hands far away from the paint.
Thumb AND knuckle painting, apparently.
Completely coincidentally, the boys chose this week to start pretending that the desk in their room is a garage. They sit under there and "close the door," while I bug them about what letter "garage" starts with. :)
We didn't do much with the creation story this week. We've done it before, Levi is in the throes of it in Sunday school, and I had enough other things going on to decide to pass over it pretty quickly. In our family Bible reading, we happen to be in the 10 plagues section of Exodus, so the boys are getting a daily dose of God's power. We did review the first few catechism questions -- who made you, what else did God make, and why -- as it's been a while since we covered them.
I have one more Gg game we might do, but mostly we're just ending the week with a nice, lazy Saturday. Maybe I can convince my husband that we need to visit Graeter's for ice cream to cap off Gg week!
You do such a great job with your boys.

Thanks, Becky! I had no idea I would love being a preschool teacher, but I am having lots of fun planning activities. (I'm also learning how to give myself grace when we don't do everything I'd hoped to!!)
