Though you wouldn't know it from my lack of blog posts recently, I've been thinking about a lot of things:
One of the bloggers I read hosted a "why I blog" post from a bunch of other bloggers [how many times can I say "blog" in one sentence?!], and I was rather dismayed with most of the answers, which led me to think about my own purpose -- in life and in blogging.
I've been wrestling with the purpose and effectiveness of prayer, as I lie in bed night after night and plead with God (without success, it seems) to let Owen stop coughing. (My husband is quick to remind me that God owes me nothing.)
I recently finished a delightful and thought-provoking book called Bed and Board, written in the 1960s by an Episcopalian priest and recommended by Katey [you should go check out her recipe for baked apples, by the way]. While at times so witty that I literally laughed out loud while reading, it also contains some of the most beautiful descriptions of wife- and motherhood I've ever come across.
But mostly, lately, I've been desperately trying to cram in as much protein as possible every day (I feel SO much better pregnant when I get over 100 grams a day!), and tending to my sick children, and making arrangements for other responsibilities so that I can tend to my sick children, and putting forth the bare minimum in efforts to keep my house somewhat under control. So while my brain is always running, there hasn't been much time to sit down and articulate these thoughts on "paper"! Perhaps I'll manage to expound on one or more of those thoughts in the future. In the meantime, I'll leave you with one happy thought:

Owen loves to feed himself. :)
